Why does bite cost anything?
Every bite is written by a language model, and audio podcasts are transcribed before they can be summarized. That's a real cost per piece — the subscription is what keeps it running without ads or selling what you read.
What do I get without paying?
Ten bites a month, the full reader and the daily briefing, and it resets on the 1st. Free isn't a demo — it's the app, with a limit.
What can I save?
Articles, YouTube videos and podcast episodes. If you can open it in a browser or a podcast app, bite can usually read it. Videos and podcasts come back with jump marks, so you can go straight to the moment worth hearing — and a show published on YouTube is the quickest of all, because its captions already exist.
How much can I save?
As much as normal reading takes. There is a fair-use figure so one account can't run up the bill for everybody, and it sits far past a heavy month. If you ever reach it nothing is refused: saving keeps working, things are still captured, and summaries resume on the 1st. Not everything weighs the same, though — an hour of audio has to be transcribed before anyone can read it, so podcasts run a month down faster than articles. The same show on YouTube costs almost nothing, because its captions already exist.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep pro until the period you paid for ends, then go back to the free limit. Nothing is deleted — every bite you've saved stays readable.
